"Born in Sassenheim, Holland in 1928, Dirk is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Antoinette (Netty). The last surviving of eight siblings, predeceased by brothers Jack, Cor, John, Art and Martin, as well as sisters Mary and Coby. Dirk emigrated to Canada in 1948, but went back to Holland in 1950 to marry Netty, the love of his life."
