Diane Mary Godfrey

It is with sadness that we share that Diane passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side at The Village of Humber Heights on January 26, 2024, at the age of 89. Diane joins her husband of over 40 years, Ray. Loving mother of Stacey (Gord), Kathy (Peter), Liz, and Susan. She was also the cherished “Momma” to her grandchildren Whitney (Graham), Taylor (Ryan), Christian, and Julia and great-grandchildren Aspen, Easton, and Lainey.  

 Diane spent her childhood in Guelph and moved to Toronto when she was 16 where she later met her husband. Diane and Ray shared a passion for antiquing and discovering hidden treasures, especially in the Beaver Valley, where they owned property. Throughout the years, Diane was an active Catholic Women’s League member and valued part of the Church community. She loved live entertainment, especially Mirvish productions, which she took in regularly and shared with her grandchildren. Diane will be remembered for sharing bits of wisdom and advice and for always telling it like it is. Diane will also be fondly remembered for her love of bargain-hunting - which she has passed down to the rest of her family. Diane joins her parents, her much-loved siblings Verne, Carol, Jill, Jack, and Ted, as well as some of her dear friends. She is survived by her brother Tom and will be missed enormously by her friends and extended family.  

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff at The Village of Humber Heights Weston Neighbourhood for their loving care and support, particularly in the last weeks of Diane’s life. We would especially like to thank Evelyn, Rockel, Cristy, Clementina, Nureen, Lili, and Sangita.  

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
