Derek Horsey

Derek Horsey November 15 1935 - October 29 2016
Passed at the age of 80, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, where he had been in Complex Transitional Care since January 2016. Dearly missed by his best friend, since their teen years, and his devoted wife for 58 years, Peggy, (nee Hibberd), his beloved daughter, Tenley Lauren and his grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Tyler, Justin and Bradley. Also missed by his sister, Maureen, and her family in New Zealand, and extended family in the UK.
Derek retired at 65, from ITT Canada, where he was their Canadian Transportation Manager. "Eyes to the sky!" - Derek was a keen member of the YYZ Aviation group at TORONTO'S Pearson Airport, and locally, a retirees group, who met Fridays, for lunch, at the Queen's Head.
Thank you to everyone who took time to visit him frequently, and for the many kindnesses extended to Peggy and Tenley, during this trying time, on a regular basis, by neighbours and friends.
In keeping with Dereks wishes no visitation or service will be held. Interment at St. Jude's Cememtery, Oakville. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dereks honour, and as a thank you for the outstanding and compassionate care on the Complex Transitional Unit, to the Oakville Hospital Foundation, 3001 Hospital Gate, Oakville, ON L6M OL8.
