BATES, Derek James
Peacefully on Thursday June 19, 2014 at the Etobicoke General Hospital at the age of 54. Beloved son of Victoria and Ralph Bates. Loving brother of Martin (the late Jayne) and of Bruce. Cherished father of Michael. Fondly remembered by his nephews Mark, Steven, Brayden, Vincent, and Dexter. Derek will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
At Derek’s request no formal funeral service was held. A graveside burial of cremated remains will take place Thursday July 10, 2014 at 3pm at Beechwood Cemetery.
A public memorial service will be held at the Westmount Army & Navy Club 41 Kingdom St, Etobicoke on Wednesday, September 14th from 1pm till 4pm.
