David Marvin Mackinnon “Muck” was born January 9th 1962 to Mary and Adolfus Mackinnon in Summerside, PEI. Muck grew up with this two brother (Lauren and John Andrew) and one sister (Anne). As a child, Muck loved to play sports, ran track and was an alter boy with his cousin Michael. The two of them would get up to know good as alter boys and often shared many adventures together.
When Muck was 20, he decided to leave the island for promise of a better job in Toronto. He was quickly hired by the Toronto Transit Commission where he spent the next 30 years of his life working. Muck loved two things the most and that was his job at TTC and his sports. Muck would often find any occasion to throw a party in honour of sports; this includes parties of one watching his nephews Ryan and Carson play hockey at all hours of the night.
Often Muck would throw parties at their home and invite friends, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles would all come to be together. Muck would have so much fun having everyone around him to bug, that’s what he did. He would make sure you were taken care of, felt welcomed and then would pick on you to show his love.
Muck loved nothing more than his family. He and his wife, Shamela welcomed two children into this world; Pagel (10-years-old) and Shadav (6-years-old). Being there for Pagel, Shadav and his two step-daughters (Jess & Chris) was what Muck fought for. He took pride in his family and loved taking them to PEI, to family events and on weekend trips. Muck loved to spoil his wife Shamela most and would often Barbecue her dinners as that was one of his signature meals.
Muck meant the world to those who knew him. He had a way of bugging you until you loved him and you couldn’t do without him. He truly touched the hearts of many and for that reason, his passing was so very devastating. Muck fought to survive, but despite his efforts, God decide to have Muck join him on February 2nd, 2018.
