David Lumsden

It is with a profound sense of loss that we announce the sudden passing of Professor David Paul Lumsden 1943-2020. The wonderful Son of the late Emmeline and William Lumsden. The Dearest Brother of William and Sandra. The much-Loved Uncle of Joshua, Jonathan, Esther/Rob and Sarah. The Great Uncle to Hailey, Rory and Wyatt. Cherished Nephew, Cousin and Friend to many.
David was a highly respected scholar, educator, teacher and mentor. BA/MA University of Toronto. PHD University of Cambridge. Professor of Anthropology at York University. Former Master of Bethune College and Past President of the Toronto Chongqing Association. Along with Chair/Member of countless boards and associations.
He was a recipient of the Governor General of Canada Medallion along with the highly prestigious Government of China Chinese Friendship Award. President of the Residents Council Weston Terrace. With special gratitude to the staff for their kind care over these past number of years.
David's positive impact upon lives all over the world has truly been significant.
