David Walter Humenny

Passed away with his loving wife by his side on Sunday June 30, 2024 at the age of 69. Devoted husband of Rosanna for 43 wonderful years. Proud father of Melissa (Mark) and Tyler. Cherished grandfather of Joseph David. Dear brother of Cindy and cousin of Marie. David will be missed by his brother in-law Addy (Ann-Marie) and their children, Kelly (Adam) and Michael (Monika) and their children, Ryley, Eric, Matthew and Victoria. David has been reunited with his loving parents, Walter and Lena.

David was a man who loved working with his hands and excelled at building and fixing things, which led to his career as an aircraft mechanic. David worked for Viking Helicopters, Air Niagara and Spar Aerospace before joining Transport Canada where he finished his career as Superintendent of Airworthiness.

He was a man who also loved the outdoors. Dave loved spending his winters skiing and watching hockey. His summers were spent up North, on the boat, golfing, making pizza or working on a new project. Above all, his passion was hosting his friends and family at his beloved cottage or home in Collingwood. Dave had a personality that was truly larger than life. He was dearly loved by family and friends. 

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Thursday July 11, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday July 12, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations to the UHN Foundation to help support the Ajmera Transplant Centre would be appreciated.
