David Graham

David Scott Graham
January 24, 1927 - Sept 27, 2017
David died peacefully at home surrounded by Love and Family.
He was the son of David Scott Graham and Helen Philippa MacConnell and predeceased by his
older brother Robert T. D. Graham. David will be deeply missed by his wife Marty, the light of
his life for the past sixty-six years, and his four children: Ian (Donna, Camelia), Susan (Owen),
Jeff (Jan) and Laurie along with his eight granddaughters: Kelly, Kendra, Wiyanna, Raelen,
Jacqueline (Sam), Alexandra (Mike), Kylie and Taylor and three great grandsons: Leif, Waverly
and Xavier.
David was born in Hamilton 1927, educated in Toronto, was School Captain at UTS (class of
’45), and graduated from University of Toronto as a Professional Engineer. In 1954 David and
Marty returned to Inglewood and established a fibreglass reinforced plastics company in the
family’s woollen mill (circa 1840’s). David was a founding member of The Osler Bluff Ski Club.
His interests included skiing, canoe tripping and experiencing the world with Marty. Some of his
favourite authors were John Shelby Spong, Scott Peck, Duane Elgin and Kahlil Gibran. David
always had a sparkle in his eye and a zeal for life and gave his family many opportunities to
explore their own potentials.
Like his great grandfather, who laid out the first streets of Inglewood, David helped develop the
village in keeping with the rural nature of Caledon. His focus was always community - local and
national. To quote a friend’s recent email to David, “You are a visionary and a student of
life….an accomplished engineer, businessman, developer, benefactor, and contributor…a true
gentleman, a great husband and a wonderful provider.”
A private family service will be held at the Inglewood United Church. The Graham family invites
the community, friends and colleagues to a reception at the Caledon Country Club, 2121 Olde
Base Line Rd. on Oct 4th from 3- 5 pm.
We extend our gratitude and appreciation to those who cared for Dad keeping him comfortable
at home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Caledon Community Services or a charity
of your choice.
