April 25, 1932 – August 4, 2013

Passed away after an illness in his 82nd year. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years Shirley (nee Bolstad). Cherished Father of Ann Marie (Wally) MacLean, John David (Jennifer) Ashworth and William Bolstad (Noela) Ashworth and proud Grandfather of Brenna Gayle MacLean. Beloved Brother of Tony (Lynne) Ashworth and Peter (Sue) Ashworth. He will be dearly missed by longtime friend Philip (Sheree) Everson and his Wednesday golf buddies: Neil Collinge, Brian Hamer and Bobby Wright. David graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA from the University of Toronto with a career spent in marketing. A former reserve member of the Black Watch Regiment, a member of Zeta Psi fraternity, and a member of the Brampton Golf Club for 48 years with two of those as President. David will be remembered as a busy family man, an avid golfer and for watching his granddaughter swim competitively as recently as last week when she won 2 bronze medals at the US Open. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10) Brampton, on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 11-1 p.m. Service to follow in the chapel at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated.
