David Amaral, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away suddenly of a heart attack, at home, on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
David was born on December 27, 1972, to Maria da Gloria Amaral and the late José da Costa Amaral.
He was a loving brother to Fatima (Paul) Couto, Fr. Liborio Amaral, and Angie (Joe) Resendes. He was a cherished uncle to Jonathan (Charlotte), Christopher (Kristina), Nicholas (Rachel), Jacob (Nicole), James and Anna (Mani). He will be greatly missed by his great nephews and great niece, Liam, Owen, Matteo, Ethan, Amelia, Luca, and Marco.
David's love for his family was his first priority. He enjoyed a good glass of wine with friends and family. He loved the ocean, sandy beaches, and vacationing with his family. In gatherings, David was a master storyteller, who never failed to bring tears of laughter with his quick wit and his positive attitude to life.
David began his teaching career in the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board as a teacher in 1997. He served as a Vice Principal, Principal, Superintendent of Schools, and Superintendent of Strategy, Policy, and Global Learning. He was appointed Associate Director, Instructional Services, on May 2, 2017, to the present day.
David's passion for education and learning and the well being of his students and staff will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to Sharelife or Canadian Food for Children.
