Dave Coker

David Paul Coker (1953-2023)

In his 70th year, Dave passed away peacefully at Kipling Acres Long Term Care Home, on May 26, 2023 as a result of Huntington’s Disease. Dave was born in Charlottetown, PEI on October 15, 1953.

Loving husband of Rose (Cuda) Coker. Dear father of Nicole Coker (Patrick McLean) and Jesse Paine (Tim). Cherished Nonno of Joseph David McLean.

Predeceased by his parents Lucy (Gallant) and Ernest Coker. Brother of Norman (Lilian), late Phillip (Peg), Sybil Avoledo (Donald), late Shirley Vienneau (late Albert), late Arthur (late Barbara), Joan D’Anna (Angelo), late Gordon (Valerie). Brother-in-law to the late Teresa Morellato. Zio to Anna Morellato (Daniel Primerano) and Luca Morellato (Candice Cloutier). Bis Zio to Francesca Primerano.

Dave was an avid fisherman and an eclectic listener of music. He loved Italian food and his family. Diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease in 2005, the steady decline required him to give up many of the things he loved. With the help of his wife, Rose, fishing would be the last.

Dave’s celebration of life will be at Wards Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road on Sunday June 11, 2023 at 12:30 pm. Followed by a small service at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Huntington’s Society of Canada would be appreciated.

Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be held at Highland Memory Gardens with immediate family at a future date.

Special thanks to the staff at Kipling Acres Long Term Care Home, Alders Unit, for all their support. Your care and compassion towards Dave and his family was a huge comfort.
