It is with heavy hearts that the family of Daniel “Danny” Smith announce his unexpected passing.

Danny will be sadly missed by his mother, Darquise, his brothers Derek and Darron (Courtney); his nephews, Carter and Colton; his nieces, Tarah, Kylee and Erika. His aunts Linda (Bernie); Carol (Rick), his uncle, Clarence; his cousins, Steve (Lenor), Kim (Dave), Tanya (Mike) and Tara and their families. Close family friend, uncle Brent (predeceased aunt Yvonne), cousins Lisa and Nicole (Mehrzad), his many friends, acquaintances and his beloved dog, Johnny. He is predeceased by his father, Ron (January 24, 2016.)

Visitation for Danny will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2020 from 2;00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St. South (Hwy #10), Brampton, ON L6W 2C5. Please RVSP using the blue RSVP button under the Service details section to select a time period for Sunday visitation.

Due to current restrictions due to COVID-19 a private family service will be held. Cremation will follow. Interment will take place at a later date.

During these difficult times we understand that not everyone is able to attend. For those unable to physically be present, a live webcasting of the Memorial Service will take place. To join the webcasting, please click on the “Photos and Videos” tab and click on the Webcasting link on Monday November 16th starting at 1:00 p.m.

The family has requested that donations be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association at www.Ontario.cmha.ca/donate in Danny’s memory.

In accordance with the directives provided from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, funeral services may be held within the funeral home with 30 % capacity of visitations rooms and the onsite chapel. Funeral Services may also be held at a place of worship with the same 30% capacity mandate. To allow your extended family and friends to offer their condolences, our spacious rooms and chapels continue to allow for social distancing requirements. Wearing of masks, or face coverings, by everyone is mandatory as per the directives of the Bereavement Authority. This includes ALL staff and attendees. Masks will be provided to those guests who may not have their own.
