Reid, Daniel “Dan”

Dan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 12, 2014 at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, at the age of 61.
Dan, a big man with simple tastes and a gentle soul, will be lovingly missed by his mother, Eleanora, his brothers and sister Ron (Kerri), Marlene Gris (Val), and Chris (Grazyna). Dan was predeceased by his father, Ray Reid.
He is also dearly remembered by his nieces and nephews Stephanie (Andrew), Andrew, Nicholas, and Stephen and by his aunt, Velma Abildgaard.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, on Friday, January 17th, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm followed by a reception to be held at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to the staff of the Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit at St. Mike's for their compassionate care of Dan in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Daily Bread Food Bank would be greatly appreciated by the family.
