Cristina (Nella) Venditti (nee Carnevale)
With profound sadness we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mother Cristina (Nella) Venditti. On May 31st Cristina lost her battle with Covid-19. Cristina is predeceased by her husband Libero. She will be greatly missed by Daughter Filomena Venditti (Terry Nakonecznyj) Son Giovanni Venditti (Nancy), and her Grandson Michael Venditti.
Cristina Carnevale born in 1936 in Vinchiaturo, Campobasso, Italy, to proud parents Antonio and Emilia Carnevale. Cristina immigrated to Canada in 1954 and began a new life with her soulmate, Libero Venditti with whom she shared 47 happy years of marriage, until his death in 2001. Cristina shared a special life long bond with her siblings Michelina, Giovanni, and Franco and their respective spouses, Salvatore, Filomena, and Giovanna. Because of her grounded nature and loving personality my father’s family, Michelangelo, Frank, Cristina, Maria, Carmela and Antonietta, quickly adopted her as one of their own. Like a sister, they all valued, respected and loved her dearly. The Carnevale Family, became very close with the Venditti Family, celebrating many of life’s achievements and holidays. Family was everything to Cristina, she was especially proud of her grandson Michael.
Cristina worked for many years in the garment industry. She was a very talented seamstress, who took great pride in her work and provided her daughter and daughter-in-law with custom made clothing. She had many talents including cooking and baking for her family.
Mom, we just want to take a moment to acknowledge all that you have meant to us. We want you to know you were the best mom we could ever ask for. Thank you for all your love, everything you were as a person, and for everything you gave us. While Covid tragically took you away from us without warning and made it impossible for us to be by your side, we know that dad was there to help carry you to heaven. We will honour respect and love you forever.
Donations, in Cristina's name, may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
