Colin Grant Roderick Shirra

In his 90th year, Colin Grant Roderick Shirra of Malton, Ontario passed away on Saturday, July 31st.
Rod, as he was know to friends and loved ones, was born in Leeds, England and raised in Glasgow, Scotland before he moved to Canada as a young man.
It was in Canada where he met his beautiful wife, Diane Shirra (nee McGraw) who predeceased him by five years. They settled their home in Malton in the late 1960s and lived and loved there until the end. Rod spent nearly 35 years as an employee of the TTC.
Rod is survived by his sons Allan and Douglas, his daughter-in-law Nadean Peskun and his granddaughter Rielle, who brought him pride, joy and inspiration.
Rod was a proud member of the RAF as a teenager and a longstanding member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Rod was also an avid golfer and loved soccer and rugby.
