Clement Talbot Chilver
27th March, 1922 – 23rd July, 2013
After a long and valiant battle with cancer, peacefully passed away in his 92nd year on Tuesday 23rd July, at Toronto General Hospital. Beloved husband of Johanna and dear father of Tina (predeceased), Ron and John (Connie). He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and acquaintances.
Born in London England, he was a veteran of World War II, volunteering to protect his King and country immediately upon the inception of hostilities in 1939.
After enduring almost six years of war, including tours in Italy and Africa, he received his reward when he met his wife to be, Johanna, when serving with the allied forces occupying Austria in 1945. They were the first couple to be married in Klagenfurt, Austria following the armistice.
His determination and positivity would inspire all who knew him, and in later years he would become crucial to the founding and development of the family's cosmaceutical company Cellex-C International Inc.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville on Wednesday, 14th August from 4-7pm.
A church service will be held at 12:30pm at St. Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William Street, Oakville, on Thursday, 15th August, followed immediately by a reception. Private family burial to follow at St. Jude's cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Toronto General Hospital would be appreciated.
