Clara Velistine Brathwaite
Passed away peacefully Thursday September 22nd at her home.
She is survived by her two beloved sons, Tony Drossos and Dwayne Barrow, and her beautiful grand daughters, Malaika Drossos and Mya Barrow. Clara was born in Marleyvale, Barbados, on January 27, 1951. She was the 11th of 12 siblings, who have gone before her:John, Calston, Herman, Nita, Daphne,Elma, Ismay, Sylvia, Geraldine, but survived by Mignon and Stephen. She had many nieces nephews, and cousins, too many to mention. In 1968, she immigrated to Canada when she was 17, to attend school snd start a new life.
She eventually worked at Sheridan Village retirement home in 1972, until she retired in 2016. She enjoyed her colleagues immensely which made her work rewarding. Her sons, to Clara’s joy and delight, would each give her beautiful grand daughters Malaika and Mya to add to her family. She had always wanted to add girls in the mix. She loved her family dearly and did what she could for them. Clara had a vibrant personality. She was caring, kind and had the best sense of humour. If she could help you, she would do it without question. Her radiant smile and unique laugh made all feel happy and welcomed.
Clara, you will missed dearly, but we know that you are in heaven with the Lord, making the angels laugh and reminiscing with your siblings! Rest well, we love you and will miss you greatly!
