VISANO, Ciro 'Gino' - Halfway through his 94th year, Gino died peacefully at Etobicoke General Hospital, on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 surrounded by his loved ones. Born April 21, 1916 at Torre del Greco, on the bay of Naples. Gino was predeceased on June 30 of this year by his beloved wife Maria Bosna Damiani Visano with whom he arrived in Canada fifty-seven years ago; and by his sister Rachela and brother Gennaro. Survived by three children John Visano (Rose), and twins Livio Visano (Brenda) and Fulvia Mrusek (Wolf); and by his step-daughter Franca Damiani Carella; grandchildren Lisa Principe (Gary), Tanya Visano, Anthony Visano (Tammi), and twins Derek and Richard Mrusek (Valerie); and step-grandchildren Mara Dunlap (Sam Perri), Tina Cyr, Diana Alonso (Ramiro), Mark Meadwell (Danuta), and Susan Dawn Petrasso (Louis). Great-grandfather of Julia, Jessica, and Jenna Principe; and step-great-grandfather of twins Kenneth (Mary Lynn) and Gregory (Leanne) and Aja Dunlap, Damian and Allana Cyr, Sara, Lauren, and Noah Alonso, Katelyn and Ryan Meadwell, Anthony and Michael Petrasso; and step-great- great-grandfather of Samantha, Cruz, and Aaliyah Dunlap, and Curtis, Lily and Drake Cyr; and by his sister Vincenza. Special friend of Elisabeth Mrusek. The family is grateful to the staff of Etobicoke General Hospital's emergency unit, and to Monsignor John Iverinci, who administered the last rites of the Catholic Church. Friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Highway 7 (west of Pine Valley Drive), Woodbridge on Thursday from 5-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Church, 8500 Islington Avenue (south of Langstaff Road) Woodbridge, on Friday, October 23 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 7300 Highway 27 (north of 407, Woodbridge).
