CICELY HILDA BETTS BROWN Quietly, on Saturday, September 26, 2009, at her pretty Churchville home at the age of 94, of a heart attack, as her garden settled for the autumn. Born May 28, 1914, in Romford, England. Pre-deceased by her father, George Herbert Betts, and mother Hilda Betts (Runnacles), but survived by Peter Henry Brown, her adoring husband of 56 years; her beloved sisters and brother, Judy, Audrey (John), Rosemary (Brian) and Pat (Judy); her children Peter Lake (Betty Jane, Liz Rago), Ian (Johanna), Timothy (Frank), Julia (Matt) and Jaima (Rick); her grandchildren Claudia, Christopher, Alexandra, Andrea, Hayley, Walker, and Remy; her great-grandchildren Robin, Frieda, Tyler, Liam, and Olivia-Megan; and her great- great-grandson, Julian. A WREN during the Second World War, an intrepid traveller, a seamstress and a painter, and a proud cook, her soul resided most deeply in her family and her extensive and impeccable garden. We will miss her indominitable spirit, her bottomless energy, her lively humour, and her intractable love for all she cared about. Visitation with the family on Thursday, October 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South, Brampton. Funeral service to be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2009, at St. Alban's Anglican Church, 537 Main Street, Glen Williams (Georgetown), Ontario.
