It is with deep sorrow we announce the death of Charles Henry Giovanella. Charlie was looking forward to his 100th birthday this coming June. He passed away peacefully in his sleep after visiting with his family at Revera Westside Long Term Care in Etobicoke on December 24, 2018.
Charlie was born in Cobalt to the late Joseph Giovanella and Beatrice Gamelin on June 16, 1919. He worked for Avro in Malton prior to returning to Cobalt in 1955 and had been a resident of the area until his move to Etobicoke in 2015.
Mr Giovanella was known in the Tri-Town area for his work as a Radio and TV serviceman. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.
Predeceased by his parents and his loving wife Jeanne Giovanella and survived by
their son Wilfred and his wife Sylvia Giovanella; grandchildren Cassandra, (Mike Redwood) and Corey Giovanella. Also surviving great grandchildren Damon and Colin Redwood.
The Giovanella family will welcome friends at a reception in Haileybury, Ontario. The location and date of the reception and internment at the Cobalt Coleman Catholic Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
