It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dearest patriarch, Cesar Victor Jara. He passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on June 3, 2023. Born to Cesar Jara and Luzmila Villavicencio on January 7, 1935, in Zaruma, Ecuador.
Cesar is finally reunited with the love of his life, Gloria, after many years apart. Cesar and Gloria met in Ecuador, and married soon after, starting their life together. In 1972 Cesar immigrated to Canada and in 1974 Gloria made the move to Canada with her four children in tow, reuniting after two long years apart.
Cesar is the proud, loving father to Alexandra, Russell, Victor and Rosi, and he will be sorely missed by his sons-in-law. Doting grandfather to Michelle, Danielle, Catherine, and Christopher. Cesar will be fondly remembered by his many family members and friends all over the world. He is now also reunited with his brothers and sisters who predeceased him.
A salesman at heart, Cesar travelled all over Ecuador, Colombia and Peru beginning at the age of 16. He loved to watch soccer, boxing and the Olympics with his family. He would always enjoy getting to spend time with his grandchildren and pets when he could. He was a very friendly, loving and sociable person, always lighting up a room with laughter. Cesar would always help when he could and was very generous when it came to those he loved and his community.
His love, laughter and generosity will be dearly missed. Our grief over losing him is infinite, and our loving memory of him will always remain in our hearts.
Friends and family will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
