Catherine Heasman-Fairbank was born to Dora and Albert Leach on October 21st, 1931 in Brantford, Ontario.
The family moved to Toronto in the mid 30’s and worshipped at Dovercourt Salvation Army Citadel.

Cath’s brother Ken was born in 1938.

In 1942 another move was made to Toronto and the Leaches transferred to the Danforth Corps.

Cath was involved in many young peoples’ activities- Brownies/Guides, singing company and corps cadets.

In 1951 she married Bill Heasman, the love of her life. They had 3 children- Elaine (Ross), Will (Annie), and David (Donna). Bill died in 2006.

Cath was very involved at Danforth, and then Agincourt corps as a primary leader of the Sunday school and as a songster. She was also league of mercy secretary for 10 years.

Cath loved her army family and spent many hours phoning, sending cards and delivering plants to shut-ins and bereaved.

She also worked in the pastoral care department at Scarborough Grace Hospital giving comfort to the many who phoned or visited the chaplain office, she also volunteering at the hospital.

In 2016 Cath married Gordon Fairbank whom she had known since they were in their teens at Danforth.
They were in their 80’s but enjoyed the years they had together.

Cath leaves her 3 children and their spouses, 3 grandchildren- Sara (James), Laura and Justin.
3 great grandchildren- Caleb, Logan and Liam, Brother Ken, Sister-in-law Lois and brother-in-law Gord, step children- Geoffrey and Cathy and their families.

Cath was a role model of gentleness, gracefulness and godliness.
