Catherine "Cathie" McDermott

McDERMOTT, CATHERINE TERESA (Cathie/Kate)
On October 26, 2012 in Oakville at the age of 83. Survived by her sister Helen Maybee of Mississauga, sister-in-law of Joy McDermott of Kingston and many nieces and nephews and their children. Predeceased by her sister Gabrielle McDermott, brothers Robert (Bob) and Edward (Ted) McDermott, and in-laws Nadine McDermott and Arthur Maybee. Catherine graduated from the University of Toronto in 1951. After 18 years in the business world, she became a teacher and spent her second career at Erindale Secondary School in Mississauga. She loved her basset hounds, her cottage, her family and the teenagers whom she taught and coached.

Visitation at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, on Friday, November 2, from 9 – 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds Street, Oakville at 11:00 a.m.
