MARCOCCHIO, Caterina
Caterina passed away peacefully on Sunday May 4, 2014 at the age of 91. She is predeceased by her loving husband Guglielmo of 57 wonderful years, sisters Rosina and Augusta, and brothers Noe and Dino. Proud mother of daughters Nadia and Eda, and son-in-laws Bruno and John. Cherished Nonna to David (Anna), Lianne (Lam), Erin (Eric) and Steven (Dawn). Dear Nonna GG to David Jr., Matthew, Sophia and Christian, and Lauren and Teo. Caterina will be sadly missed by many friends and family in Canada and overseas. Born in Castions di Zoppola Italy, the family came to Canada in 1952 to build a new life together. She will be fondly remembered for her tireless energy, strength, courage, devotion and pride in her family, her fabulous garden and flowers, her passion for sewing, and the many worldly travels she and Dad enjoyed, including the tours of Italy with the Bersaglieri. A special thank you to the staff at Villa Colombo Vaughan for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held Tuesday May 6, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Highway 7 West, Woodbridge Ontario. Funeral mass will be held 9:30am on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at St Clare of Assisi Church 150 St Francis Ave Woodbridge, Ontario. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Caterina's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society.
