ARMITAGE, Carolyn Joan
(nee Scott)
1944-2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Carolyn Armitage on April 6, 2016.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Don, her daughters Susan (Ian), Julie (Dave), and Lori as well as her grandchildren Lindsay, Marielle, Joey, Emma, Sarah, Evan and Erica and her brother Ron (Vicki). Carolyn was born in St. Lambert, Quebec where she spent her childhood and attended nursing school. She met Don in Montreal, they were married in 1966 and relocated to Toronto. Soon after, Don and Carolyn moved to Brampton, where they lived and raised three daughters. Carolyn was a stayat-home mom who took great joy in volunteering at school and sporting events for all of her daughters. As her daughters became more independent, she worked at the Peel Board Of Education - Student Transportation. Carolyn always enjoyed active pursuits, trips with family, and especially time at the cottage that she and Don built as a summer home in Muskoka in 1971. In recent years, Carolyn
took great joy in watching her 7 grandchildren grow up and she became a well loved member of the community of Inglewood and also Mayfield United Church. She loved the sport of curling and was so proud to have recently won a championship title at the Brampton Curling Club. She was also heavily involved in the Probus Club of Brampton. Carolyn had an energetic and adventurous sprit that was admired by all. She was always willing to help others and will be dearly missed by so many. The Lord took
her and now there is another angel in heaven looking down upon us. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Mayfield United Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
