Lawson, Carol Ann Margaret (née Reilly) peacefully at her residence with her son, Greg nearby. Loving daughter of Francis Reilly and Helen (Ella) Cassidy, incredible and loving mother to Jim and his wife, Alexandra, Gail and her husband, Jeff, John and his partner, Jo Jo of Amsterdam, and her youngest son and recent caregiver, Greg.
Cherished grandmother of Laura (Stephen) and Alison (Micheal), loving ‘Auntie Carol’ to Lisa, Penny, Sean, Patrick and Ella Reilly, and Melissa and Allison Ferri, and her godchildren John and Karoline Formanek.
Predeceased by her loving son, Jim, her husband and father of their four children, Alan Ferr, her brother, Joseph Reilly, her husband, John (Jack) Lawson, and her loving partner, John (Jack) Wilson. Carol is survived by her loving younger brother, Bernie.
Carol graduated from St.Michael’s School of Nursing Class of 1958, a truly dedicated registered nurse, serving patients for 40 years at Humber Hospital in the E.R., the I.C.U. and the highly-skilled I.V. team. She made life-long friends with fellow graduates, Carole Munro and Ann Formanek, along with sister-in-law Maryanne Reilly.
Carol enjoyed hosting many family and neighbourhood gatherings during the holidays and ladies’ euchre parties, loved to read medical and mystery novels, played cribbage, learned the art of macrame, was a good friend and avid listener, enjoyed summer living with family and guests in Bala, Muskoka, and sang in the choir of Transfiguration church. She embraced her ‘adopted’ families, both Lawson and Wilson clans with open arms, spoiling all her new-found grandkids each and every birthday.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Humber River Regional Hospital in Carol’s name. *Friends may express their condolences on Ward Funeral Home’s website and may include photographs.
