Carol Brethet

October 12, 1930 - April 9, 2016
Suddenly at her residence in Burlington, Ontario at the age of 85. Always remembered and loved by her daughters; Lynn Vandervelde (Ken), Anne Brethet (Alec), and granddaughters Jaki and Carolyn. Predeceased by her wonderful husband Jack Brethet, her brother Frank Squires and her stepsister Mary Ellen Johnston. Carol was involved with competitive horse jumping in her youth, and since then training and competing with Labrador Retrievers (3 of whom became Field Trial Champions). She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family, friends, and her dogs, always living life to the fullest and always with a fun and positive attitude. Carol was a lady of decorum but one with lots of energy, a twinkle in her eye, and a smile for everyone. She definitely made our world a happier place.
Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, Ontario on Monday, April 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Private funeral on Tuesday, April 19.
