With broken hearts, the family announces the sudden and gentle passing of our James, at his own home on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the age of 47.

Beloved son of Joseph and the late Judy May (nee Moore). Cherished brother of Jennifer and Jonathan (Cristina). Treasured nephew of Rachael & the late Tony Chiovitti and of Carlo & Mary Chiovitti. Adored first grandchild of Carmine & Michelina Chiovitti and Fred & Lorraine Moore. The arrival of little Jamie brought so much love and joy, and though he didn’t know it, that love paved the way for all the pinched cheeks of the many dear cousins who followed and will sadly miss him.

Forever in the hearts of the great friends he made throughout his life, Marminder, John, Judith, Carol, Carlos, Susan, the late Anthony & the late Valerie. He will be fondly remembered by the many friends he made in the Mind Forward community, especially Michelle, whom he thought the world of and helped him reach his goals. James was a beloved and respected umpire of Brampton Minor Baseball for many years. His absence on the field will surely be felt by the many players, coaches, and fellow umpires who shared his love of the game.

Ever-present and all-accepting, James never forgot a face or a name, and would happily engage in conversation with anyone who crossed his path throughout his life. The loss of his kind and gentle presence will be felt by numerous neighbours, friends, and all who knew him.

James will be greatly missed.

“Your last day on Earth will be your first day in Heaven.”
