Carmela Bonello (Lena)

Carmela Bonello passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 5, 2023 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas, and two sons, Charles and Michael. She is survived by her daughters Antuanette (Frank) and Joyce, and her son Gerard. She was a loving grandmother to Courtenay, Genevieve, Daniel, Michael, and Frances, and a beloved great grandmother to Jadynne and Natasha.

Carmela emigrated from Malta with her young family in 1951. She worked throughout her life to help her family members successfully establish themselves here in Canada.

Carmela loved to sing, often with songs she heard on the radio. she enjoyed parties with her friends and going dancing with her husband. she loved to garden and sew. She particularly enjoyed travelling with her husband. She always prepared memorable family meals for all holiday occasions, but especially cherished Christmas celebrations and shopping for presents.

As a woman of faith, Carmela was a kind and humble woman, who was always encouraging and supportive. She was warm and welcoming to everyone she met. With a dependable integrity of character, she modeled the beliefs to which adhered. She will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew her.
