Calvin White

“We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8)

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved father Calvin White who went home to be with his Lord on Saturday May 29, 2021 at the age of 86. He is mourned by his loving wife Elora of 50 years and will be sadly missed by his son Wayne, and his daughters Kimberly, Nicole, and Natalie (Nick). He will also be missed by his brothers, sister, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was born in Christ Church, Barbados, West Indies and immigrated to Canada. He then eventually moved to Toronto, Ontario. On September 12, 1970 he married Elora Ingram and they made their home in Toronto where they raised their four children. He worked for VIA rail for many years and retired in 1999. Calvin was a Godfearing, hardworking, dedicated husband and father. He was a people person, with a wonderful sense of humour, had an infectious smile, and drew people to himself wherever he went. He was also an incredible man who loved his wife, family, and friends and we will miss him dearly. We take comfort in knowing that his deep faith prepared him to gracefully pass, knowing that he lived a good life, and has now left this world for a better world to come.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:1-3.)
