BURLEIGH LEISHMAN (nee Ballantyne) passed away on April 14, 2016 in Oakville after a brief battle with cancer. Predeceased by McGregor, her loving and devoted husband of 60 years. Together again, never really apart. Beloved mother of Chris, who passed away suddenly in 2011, Tim (Eleanor Misener), Wendy, Heather (John McLarty), and Steve Douglas (Liz). Fiercely proud Granny to Melanie, Andrew, Jennifer, Michael, Leah, Max, Hugh, Maryanne, Michael and Sara. Youngest of the Ballantyne sisters of Go Home Bay: Patricia Ballantyne (James, d.), Dossé Matthews, and Joan Redfern (Donald, d.). She loved her sisters dearly. A graduate of McGill University, Burleigh worked for many years at the Children’s Aid Society and the United Way, and ended her career as a savvy real estate agent in North Toronto. We will always remember Mom – Granny, Burleigh, Aunt Burl – for her generous, kind, and cheerful approach to life. A private celebration of Burleigh’s life will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Ian Anderson House. Please visit the Book of Memories at www.wardfuneralhome.com
