The life of Buenaventura “Tatay Ben” Fernandez
April 3, 1924- May 25, 2019

Tatay Ben passed away peacefully on May 25, 2019 at his Woodbridge residence , surrounded by his family.
He was a Philippine Veteran who served his country during the Japanese-Philippine war. He married Anita Taino and was blessed with five loving children :
Leila ( Bill Chorney predeceased), Lynn (Santi Guevara), Efren, Ed, and Eric ( Aurea Lou Angeles). He immigrated to Canada with his wife to help raise many of their grandchildren.
Tatay Ben was a jack of all trades kind of guy who could fix just about anything. He was resourceful and very innovative. He loved travelling and an epitome of a loving and gentle family man. He was tactful with his words and all that met him took note of his kind disposition. Tatay Ben will be dearly missed by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, surviving siblings, many nieces and nephews
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr) 905-851-9100 on Thursday from 3-9 p.m. A funeral mass will take place on Friday May 31, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 100 Bainbridge Ave., Woodbridge (North of hwy 7 on Martin Grove Rd.)
