SWIRLA, BRIDGET (nee McGrade) - Peacefully at Kipling Acres, on October 10, 2017 in her 91st year. Predeceased by husband, Nick (1989). Loved and proud of her three sons, Nick (Pat), Paul (Christa) and Michael (Sue) and her 9 grandchildren: Mark (Kasia), Elizabeth (Scott), Erin (Luke), Paula, Ryan (Melissa), Katie, Meagan, Shannon and Michael. Proud great grandmother of 8. Dear sister of Hugh (Camilla), predeceased by Mary (May Dusko), James (Jim), John and Elizabeth (Betty). Bridget immigrated to Canada as a small child with her parents and siblings in tow and settled in Schomberg, Ontario on the farm her parents purchased. She was a very proud Canadian and let everyone know that Canada was her home, while cherishing her Irish roots and Catholic faith. She will be remembered by her many years with the C.W.L. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Weston. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston, on Friday October 13 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 49 George St. Weston, on Saturday October 14 at 9:00 a.m. A reception and light luncheon to follow the Mass in the Weston Room at Ward Funeral Home prior to the interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, King City. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
