Brian Edwin Monk

On Tuesday, August 20, 2024 the Monk family was united both in their grief and in their remembrances of a remarkable person who left an indelible impression on everyone he met. 

Born to Gladys and Redvers Monk of England on March 5, 1930. Beloved husband of the late Dinah Monk ‘nee Dolan’. Loving father of the late Steven Monk, the late Keith Monk, Paul Monk, and Michael Monk. Dear grandfather of four. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings and extended family overseas.

In the 1970’s he along with an associate fought for independence for the rights that denturists have today. His work played a role in the creation of the Denture Therapists Act in 1974. 

Throughout his life, Brian touched the hearts of all those fortunate enough to know him. He embraced his Catholic faith & found solace, guidance, and immense comfort in his relationship with God, volunteering at St. Jude’s Parish for nearly fifty years.

The void he leaves behind is a testament to the profound impact he had on all who knew him. Yet, in that absence we find the inspiration to live as he did: with kindness, faith, and boundless love.

All are welcome to gather at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, Toronto on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Jude’s Parish, 3265 Weston Rd, Toronto Ward, on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
