Brian Maan

Brian passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, following a long battle with Alzheimer's at Holland Christian Homes, Brampton on Thursday, November 17, at the age of 75. Loving husband of JoAnne (Muys) and cherished father of Karin of Tennessee, Jack and Stacey, and Renee and Richard (Soltesz). Proud Opa of Breanna, Abraham, David, Zachary, Ryan and Rachel. Dear brother of the late Anne Verkaik, Jean Meyer, Jane Horlings, and Irene Verkaik. Brian will be lovingly remembered by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.


Brian was born in Bergschenhoek, Holland, Christmas Day in 1940. After moving to Canada in 1951 with his family, they settled in the Holland Marsh. Brian loved farming and with his father and later his son grew carrots, onions and lettuce.


A private family burial will take place, followed by a public memorial service Monday November 21, 2016 at Horizon Hall, Holland Christian Homes Brampton at 2:00 pm.


Brian will be remembered by his family and friends for his laughter, as an avid reader and for his strong faith in Christ.
