It is with deep sadness the family of Brian wish to announce he passed away on May 26, 2014 at Brampton Civic Hospital, peacefully with his Family by his side after a courageous battle with heart disease and stroke.
Brian leave behind his devoted wife and best friend of 45 years Pauline (Henderson), loving daughter Samantha (Dave Kirk) and cherished grandchildren Joshua (Sierra), Rachel, Davis, Mitchell and Lyla, brother Scott (Jo Ann), Sheila & Peter Smith, Neville & Margaret Henderson, Jane & Gary Halfyard, Jim & Sandy Henderson, Scott & Martha Henderson, Mother-in-Law Barbara Henderson and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by grandmother Eunice Byers, mother Helen, father Thomas, sister Karen, brothers Ross and Billy Paul. Brian will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
Brian was a retired firefighter serving the Brampton Fire Department for 30 years. He moved on to a second career as Corporate Events Golf Coordinator at Rattlesnake Point Golf Club, Milton. Brian also enjoyed his work for a number of years at LCBO, Orion Gate during the month of December.
Brian was an avid curler and past president of the Brampton Curling Club. He was a true sports fan devoted to his Toronto Argonauts, Toronto Rock Lacrosse and was sad to see his Brampton Battalion leave town.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel”, 52 Main Street South (Hwy #10), Brampton on Sunday from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew’s United Church, 22 Abbey Road, Brampton.
