Brian Jeffery Cornfoot
May 31, 1956 – September 30, 2023
With the heaviest heart and a multitude of tears, I announce the passing of my partner, husband and love of my life, for almost 46 year, Brian Jeffery Cornfoot.
Brian battled ALS for the last 6 years spending the final 3 ½ years at West Park Healthcare Centre, where the staff, especially the family at 3WE (Doctors, nurses, RT’s, etc.) have shown dedication and compassion that I cannot thank them enough for.
Brian worked at the Toronto Transit Commission for 35 year and 2 months, retiring as Superintendent of Collectors. He then worked with the City of Oakville (Transit Division) for approximately 3 years till ALS forced him to resign.
We travelled, over 40 trips, including Hawaii, Mexico, South America, California, Florida, many Caribbean Islands and Nova Scotia. People said “wait till you retire to travel.” Glad we didn’t!
He is predeceased by his incredible mother, Mary Elizabeth Griffin; sister Florence; mother & father- in law, Arthur Sr & Frieda Schibler; brothers-in-law Walter & Rudolf and sister-in-law Elizabeth. Beloved partner of Robert Schibler; loving father of “adopted” daughter Anita of Colorado; dear brother of sisters’ Patricia (the late Bob), Jeanette and Margaret (John); and brother-in-law of Verena & Arthur Jr.
Brian will be forever loved and deeply missed by his huge extended family and ever larger circle of friends.
As per Brian’s wishes, there will be no funeral service and a private interment of cremated remains will take place in the Schibler family plot in April 2024.
In lieu of flowers, donations to ALS Canada, West Park Foundation or the Toronto Wildlife Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Good Bye my love, Till we meet again!
Rob XOXO
