March 15, 1962 – March 2, 2024
On March 2, 2024, Blaize Piacentini passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Blaize is predeceased by his parents, Pasquale and Maria Piacentini; survived by his wife of 32 years, Elena; his three children, Patrick, Marisa, and Frankie; his brother, Lou (Habs fan) and his wife, Sandra; sisters-in-law Mary-Anne and her husband, Serafino, and Tanina and her husband, Rocco; nephews Michael, David, and Anthony; nieces Laura (Victor), Claire, Natalie (Luca), and Ella; and grand-nephew Malcolm.
A loving husband, a devoted father, a dependable friend, and a die-hard Leafs fan, Blaize, often fitted in well-worn jeans and Stan Smiths, lived a life full of love, playfulness, laughs, and meticulous spreadsheets.
Blaize did not meet a game he didn’t like, and his competitive nature was part of his charm. Whether he was playing card games with his family around the Christmas table, Sequence with Elena, or ball hockey with his Blandorman Bombers, Blaize was always happy to play one more round or score one more point. He passed on his love of sport to his children. He was the ultimate hockey Dad — supportive, encouraging, involved — but he never failed to make time for his Dolly, Marisa. He was proud of his children and put them above all else.
Blaize cherished his wife, who he affectionately called “Nucc,” and together they built an inviting home that was filled with love, warmth, and happiness. Blaize valued his friendships, both lifelong and new. He was also a loyal and dedicated employee. He achieved many accomplishments during his 34-year career at IIROC and was well respected by all in the industry. Kind and thoughtful to all, he was an attentive listener, a trustworthy confidant, and a sincere companion.
An affectionate man, Blaize took every opportunity to steal kisses from the love of his life, Elena, give hugs to his children, and share stories with his dearest family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
