Malachiah A. Banton, 79

Malachiah A. Banton, 79 of Toronto, died at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Humber River Hospital (Wilson), Toronto. He was born on September 10, 1938 in Annasvale, Manchester, Jamaica, to Curtis and Ercella Banton. He married Monica Banton on October 30, 1971 and she survives.

Also surviving are his children Sharon Cole (Martin), Sharon Campbell, Donald Banton (Melissa), Jennifer Banton (engaged to Enos), Marlene Harriott (Winston), Cassandra Banton.

Malachiah’s daughter, Michelle Banton preceded him in death.

Siblings: Irene McLeish, Maisie Kent, Wilbert Banton, Patrick Banton and Anthony Banton (Dorothy), 16 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

The visitation is from 4:00 PM until 7:45 PM. on Friday, January 5, 2018 followed by a memorial service at Bethel Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ 1831 Weston Road, Toronto, ON, M9N 1V9. A Second memorial service will be held at the same location commencing at on Saturday January 6, 2018 Viewing will be from 8:30 AM until 9:50 AM. Followed by a Homegoing Service at 10:00 AM.

The funeral service will follow next Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Faith Apostolic, Comforthall, Manchester Jamaica. Malachiah’s remains will be interred in the family plot in Oxford, Balaclava, Jamaica.
