Bishop Alroy Charles O'Reggio, 94, of Etobicoke, Ontario, was born on May 8th, 1927, in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The son of the late Alberic O'Reggio and Dellon Gooden, Bishop transitioned peacefully at home on January 26th, 2022. Now absent from the body but present with the Lord, Bishop leaves a legacy of over 65 years devoted to ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ in his beloved home country of Jamaica, the United States of America, and Canada.
In addition to his parents, Bishop A.C O'Reggio is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Gwendolyn L. O'Reggio (2003), his beautiful sister, Delroy Louise Dixon (2017), and his cherished grandsons, Charles K. Rivers (2020) and Brian J. Woods (2021).
Bishop will be remembered for his enthusiastic teaching of the word of God, his melodious voice, outgoing personality, warm sense of humor, generosity, and his heartfelt love for the people of God.
Bishop A.C. O'Reggio was an icon, a father, and a mentor in the Church of God 7th Day. He has inspired and imparted knowledge to thousands of spiritual sons and daughters. Over the years, Bishop has performed numerous baptisms, wedding ceremonies, dedication services, burials, ordinations, etc. A servant leader, he was always willing to provide wise counsel, comfort, and support to those in need.
Bishop A.C O'Reggio leaves behind six children; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren."Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him" Psalm 127:3. Bishop A.C O’Reggio was truly blessed. He ruled his house as a man of God, highly respected by his children and congregation. He will be forever loved and always remembered.
Shiloh Church of God 7th Day will celebrate the life and legacy of Bishop Alroy Charles O'Reggio on Tuesday, February 22nd at 11:00 A.M at 123 Wendell Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. There will be a public viewing on Monday, February 21st, from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. The viewing will take
place at Ward Funeral Homes in Toronto, ON. Visitation is by appointment only. Online condolences can be shared with the family via the church website: www.shilohchurchofgodtoronto.org.
The O'Reggio family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support over the past several days. Your words of encouragement and the memories you have shared have been a tremendous source of comfort during this difficult time.
Due to COVID-19 capacity restrictions, seating at the funeral service is limited. Guests who plan to attend the Celebration of Life and Legacy service at Shiloh Church of God 7th Day must RSVP by February 17th, 2022. When the funeral service venue reaches max capacity, remaining guests
will be able to view a live stream of service at The Church of God Sabbath-Keeping, located at 312 Rexdale Ave, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1R6. Family and friends can also view the service from the comfort of their homes via Facebook or YouTube. The link will be available on the church website and Facebook page at the time of the service. Immediately following the funeral service, the interment will take place at Glenview Cemetery.
