Betty Forbes Murphy
Betty Murphy, mother, nurse, British-trained midwife, and teacher died early on Tuesday Jan. 6, 2015 peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a brief period of illness. Until one month before her death, Mom was an independent and modern woman, who regularly used her iPad for e-mail and Hangouts, played Bridge and was a wicked Cribbage player. She read many books each week and was always current with world events. Betty is pre-deceased by husbands E.H. Carson Forbes and Arthur Murphy. Lovingly remembered by her children, Carson (Skip), Beth (Paul), Moira (Jim), step daughter Marlene (Ian) also grandchildren Mark (Matt), Claire, Lois (Rich), and step grandchildren Sean, Megan and great grandchildren Avah, Lucy, Ben and Payton. Visitation will take place at Ward Funeral Home 2035 Weston Road on ……A funeral Mass will be at held at St. Philip Neri Church, 2100 Jane St., North York at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday January 10 followed by internment at Beechwood Cemetery 7241 Jane Street, Vaughan.
