Bertha Dantas

Dantas, Bertha Maria – It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of Bertha Dantas on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Grace Manor (Holland Christian Homes) in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Dantas, and her brother, Raphael Simoes. She is the beloved mother of Kenny Dantas (Maria) and Patricia Machado and loving grandmother to Oswald (Carla), Brian, Dawn-Marie (Tony) and Sharon (Neel). She will be dearly missed by her great grandchildren Zoé, Hannah, Matthew, Élise, Ava-Maria and Ian as well as her many friends and extended family members here and abroad. Bertha was a kind and gentle soul with a loving heart and a deep sense of faith. She was devoted to her family and to her community and she lived her life with grace and passion. Bertha had a great strength of character and inspired all who knew her with her generosity, compassion and love. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Grace Manor for their care and support over the past several years. Friends and family will be received at Ward Funeral Home (905-451-2124), 52 Main Street South, Brampton, Ontario on January 4th, 2011 at 10:45 a.m. A funeral mass will take place at St. Mary’s Church, 66A Main Street South at 12:00 noon.
