Calvert, Joseph Albert (Bert), C.P.A. (retired, City of Scarborough) – passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the age of 81. He fought his long battle with cancer as he lived his life; with faith, dignity, optimism and humour. He will be missed by those included in his circle of love. Beloved husband of Jean (Belcher) of 58 years. Best father ever to Cindy and Karen (Paul) Newman, and predeceased infant son David. Cherished Papa to Matt, Sara, Emily and Corina. Fondly remembered and deeply missed by his brother Bruce (Ruth) of Meaford and predeceased by his siblings Nancy, Mary and Billy. Dear brother- in- law to Edna (Gordon) Barratt, Gordon, Jack (Beryl), Ted, Lorne (Theresa) and Barbara Belcher. Bert will be remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunt Nina, his many friends and church family where he has been an active member since 1959. Friends will be received at the Westway United Church, 8 Templar Drive, Etobicoke, on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 12 noon until time of Memorial Service at 1p.m. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in the spring at Union Cemetery, Victoria Harbour. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Westway United Church, Unity United Church, Midland, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
