Belarmino Orellana passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 30th, 2024, at Mount Sinai hospital at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 28th, 1959 in Santiago, Chile to his father Rodolfo Orellana Abarca and mother Teresa Garcés de Orellana. He grew up beside his siblings Juan, Isabel, David, Rodolfo, Manuel, Teresa, Pedro and Marcela Orellana. He was a proud father of Brittney and Megan Orellana. He leaves behind many loving family and friends.
He immigrated to Canada in the early 1980’s. Nino immediately began pursuing English lessons, putting aside any Spanish speaking media in order to solely focus on learning English, which he passed at the top of his class. He began working humble jobs until he finally found a job he was truly passionate about, upholstering. He was very talented and adored his job and rarely missed a day. He believed in hard work and barely gave himself time to relax, working two jobs, 6 days a week before he passed.
Nino was a simple man, stubborn with a tough and blunt personality, yet around his friends and family that hard exterior softened. Once he opened up people knew him to be adaptable, protective, friendly and caring.
He was always active and enjoyed many things such as: soccer, karate, bowling, photography, tennis, chess, cooking, badminton, cinema, exploring nature and many other things. He was a good father and although he was a private man he loved his daughters with all his heart.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Nino brightened are invited to the Woodbridge Chapel, 4671 Highway #7 Woodbridge, ON L4L IS6. The gathering will be on Saturday September 14th from 4pm - 6pm to reminisce, grieve and celebrate the life of Belarmino.
