Wilson Beate Irmgard
Peacefully, and surrounded by family, after a lengthy illness with metastatic thyroid cancer, Beate passed at Avalon Care Centre in Orangeville on Monday, November 27, 2023 in her 73rd year.
Loving wife of Alex for 50 ½ years, cherished mother of Ursula Burke (Norm), and Elka Wilson (Greg Brown), beloved grandmother of Mason and Isabella Burke, and her many "fur grandchildren".
It would be wrong to say that Beate lost her battle with cancer because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined and remained full of love and hope. When anyone else would have broken, Beate stayed strong and faithful. Because of her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.
With the warmest heart and most compassionate soul, Beate was a kind, joyful animal lover, and a proud retiree from the Region of Peel, where she worked for many years as the Director of Internal Audit.
Our family would like to extend our utmost gratitude to all the staff at Avalon Long Term Care Centre and Headwaters Hospital in Orangeville. You took care of Beate like she was your own family, and she considered you all family in return. We will always be grateful for your limitless compassion.
The family will receive friends at the Ward Funeral Home (Brampton Chapel) on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Service will be held from the chapel on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 11 am Interment Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
