Barbara Helen Mann (née Kern)

Peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital with family by her side on September 16, 2015 in her 86th year. Loving mother of Lesley, John, and Valerie and her husband David Sinclair. Cherished grandmother of Caleb and Kirstin Mann, and step-grandmother of Alyssa and Liam Sinclair. Survived by her twin sister Katharine Ford of Huntsville; sister-in-law Joan Kern of Campbellford; daughter-in-law Julia Leather; and nieces and nephews Brian, David, and Gail Ford and John and Rae Kern. Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Charles Lawrence (Larry) Mann; her son Tom of Beamsville; her parents, Jack and Jerrine Kern of Toronto; and her brother John Ferris (Jack) Kern of Campbellford. Barbara led a rich and full life and will be missed by her many friends. She and Larry delighted in attending auctions and collecting antiques. An avid curler and lawn bowler until last year, Barbara was a dedicated member of the Weston Golf and Country Club and James Gardens Lawn Bowling Club. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Barbara’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home, Weston Chapel, at 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Ave W.), on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday; reception to follow.
