Barbara Franklin

It is with deep sorrow and much love to announce the passing of Barbara Franklin on March 15, 2025 at the age of 84, leaving a legacy of love, faith, and service. Born on June 24, 1940, in Georgetown, Guyana, Barbara immigrated to Canada in 1971, building a fulfilling life and working at Ontario Hydro until her early retirement in 1993.

Barbara's life was marked by deep relationships, faith, and community service. A devoted member of the former Church of the Advent and current member of St Mary and St Martha, Barbara served as Church Warden (for over 20 years), Lay Anointer and Lay Reader, and a member of the Lay Visitation team, and remained active until her passing. Barbara enjoyed traveling and creating lasting memories through Holland and Craig’s Travel excursions.

She cherished God, her family, friends, and church community, fostering deep relationships and touching countless lives with her kindness and generosity.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Beryl, Joyce, Norma, Claudette and Cleopatra and will be deeply missed by her uncle Sydney, sisters Lunette, Juliet, Orma and Mae; and brothers Rex, Derrick, Lindy (Percival) and Godfrey; her many godchildren, biological and adopted nieces and nephews; her extended family; and her countless friends that she inspired with her unwavering dedication and compassion. Her strength and unparalleled love will be forever missed.
