Barbara Dobell

Barbara Dobell passed away April 17, 2025 at the age of 89 surrounded by her family.

Barb will be dearly missed by Dave Dobell, her husband of 62 years, her daughters Leslie (Darren) Richard and Jenny (Paul) Kerr. Barb dearly loved her grandchildren Madison, Amanda and Jake. Barbara will be missed by her sisters, Orma, Donna (Bill) and Phyllis. She will be greeted in heaven by her brother Doug, sister-in-law Norma, and brothers-in-law Ron and Glenn and her dear Duncan. She will also be welcomed by her parents Myrtle and Donald McDonald.

Barb loved all her nieces and nephews and had a special connection with her nephews Daniel (Melissa) and Ryan (Lynn) McDonald, who were like sons to her. Dan and Ryan’s children Duncan, Keegan, Rory, Kylo, Ryland, Keegan(KJ) and Adelia all held a truly special place in her heart.

Barb had such a wonderful circle of friends which encompassed people she met over the years working as the secretary at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, leading or helping with the Alpha program, as a member of the St. Jerome’s Adult Members (JAMS) group or more recently the condo community they were fortunate to find as her last home.

Barb’s friends gave so much to her during her life and over these recent tough years. Mom loved her friends dearly and we are all so very grateful to them for the love and support they provided.

Barb’s joyful spirit and love for fun will always be remembered. She was always teaching everyone a new card game, singing a song to her grandchildren, or line dancing in the kitchen. Barbara had the ability to light up every room she walked into and made everyone feel welcome. Even as her health declined, she continued to spread joy to those around her.

We will remember Barb’s love for family, friends, God, Canada, games, balloons, decorations and chocolate.

We will miss Barb greatly, but we have so many photos and scrapbook albums that she made to help us remember the wonderful times we shared with her.

Barb’s passing will leave a lasting hole in the hearts of her family and friends. We know that she is getting heaven prepared for us and when we arrive everyone will have a nametag and a games night will be organized.
