Ashish Sohanlal

It is with great sadness that the family of Ashish Sohanlal announces his passing on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the age of 77 years. Ashish will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Alice, and his daughters Sushila (Sushil) and Sonia (Nav). He was predeceased by his beloved son Kundan. Ashish will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Matthew, Jonah and Daniel, and by his sister Primrose (Bill).

Ashish was born July 13, 1941 in Montgomerywalla, Pakistan to Barkat and Sohan Lal. He was the 5th of 7 children and was predeceased by Doris, Helen, Chaman, Sushil and Satish. After immigrating to Canada in the late 60’s Ashish returned to school as an adult and became a Registered Nurse. This is the role that mirrored who he was – a caregiver. Ashish cared for those around him whether family, friends, patients, or animals. No matter the weather or how he was feeling, he answered his calling. He lovingly cared for his wife for over 50 years. He was passionate about sports, and caring for any living creature great or small.
