It is with profound compassion and relief that we announce the passing of Arcangelo Bruno Rea. Steve and Sabrina were with their father as he took his last breath on New Year’s Day.
Bruno was born in Ceprano on November 10th, 1940 to Gaetano Rea and Theresa Peschisolido. Beloved husband of 56 years to Marisa. Cherished father of Steve (Melissa) and Sabrina (Samuel). Proud grandfather of Daniel, Stefan, Julian, Isaac, Edward, Michele and Francesca. Beloved brother to Antonietta (predeceased by Rino), Guido (Angie), Lina (Jack) and Peter (Martha). He will be missed by all.
Bruno was a quiet caretaker of souls with a vibrant smile that lit up a room. He was man of quiet strength who loved his family and friends dearly. Bruno always enjoyed a good party and ringing in the New Year. His children believe that he wanted to spend one last New Year’s Eve together.
At eleven years old he helped his mother raise his siblings while his father immigrated to Canada. Reunited at 16 as he continued to make sacrifices to help his parents raise the family as his father was ill. He dedicated his life to supporting his family.
He was a humble man who touched the lives of many and an ambitious immigrant. He co-founded Decoral Painting Ltd. Through his work, dedication, and perseverance he played an active role through construction in creating the landscape of the City of Toronto.
In consideration of the wonderful care given to Bruno at Baycrest, and the ongoing care of Marisa we ask that in lieu of flowers all donations be made to Baycrest Foundation.
